Doggone Pawesome: Social Media’s Top Dog Influencers

by lotus823 Staff

January 24, 2017

At lotus823 we have a soft spot for our favorite pooches, both in the office and on social media! Over the past few years, the trend of dog social influencers has skyrocketed, and transformed into a unique, and quite entertaining space.

Of course we all think our own furry friend is social media worthy, but what really makes these animal influencers so successful? Take a look below to see some of the top social media personalities, and what makes them so doggone pawesome.

Marnie The Dog

Marnie’s journey began when she was adopted at 11 years of age after being found on the street. Marnie is a strong proponent for adopting senior dogs, and has killed the internet with her cuteness.

Why is Marnie such a star? Her brand voice is consistent.

Along with Marnie’s angelic face and silly tongue, all of the Instagram captions are written in the same style – silly, some misspelled words, and overall, they are simple. The content stays relevant with holidays and current events, and is always fun.

Doug The Pug

Doug calls himself the “King of Pop Culture,” and is a New York Times Bestseller. He’s a handsome little guy, who loves food, hates responsibility, and has an incredible wardrobe.

What makes Doug the Pug such a hit? He’s relatable to millennials. Doug frequently posts about his love for pizza, and the common struggles of millennial living.

“‪When u realize u don’t have anyone to kiss on New Years and that u also have to start ur diet soon‬” -Doug

Menswear Dog

Mensweardog

Hailed as the “Most Stylish Dog in the World,” Menswear Dog is a fashion icon and living legend! The Shiba Inu pup, named Bodhi, is known to sport a variety of trendy menswear clothing, and is a brand ambassador for a variety of brands including Brooks Brothers, Coach, Purina, L.L. Bean, and many more.

What makes this pup’s account a tail-wagging-success? Bodhi found his niche, and owns it. His owners initially posted a photo of him all dressed up as a joke, but quickly realized it was going to be something much more. An unusual concept, to see a dog in men’s clothing, we can confidently say his account owns the space of dogs in menswear.

The Dogist

What’s better than one dog? A bunch of dogs! The Dogist posts a collection of dog photos with a brief on each pup including their name, breed, age, and a quick story about their personality or where they came from.

Why is The Dogist such a treat? The account consistently shares quality content and masters the art of story telling. The creator shares a headshot of each pup, and captions a quick snippet about each dog’s story.

Building Community Over Followers: The New Social KPI Building Community Over Followers: The New Social KPI

by Ellen Cockrell

May 4, 2026

In the early days of social media, there was one metric that indicated success: follower count. Brands, creators, and businesses chased big numbers, believing that scale alone translated into impact. But today, that equation is shifting. Audiences are more discerning, algorithms are more complex, and attention is more fragmented than ever. A large following might...

For decades, earned media has been considered the gold standard of public relations. A feature in a respected publication or a product mention from a trusted journalist carries credibility that paid advertising simply can’t replicate. But while earned media remains one of the most trusted forms of brand exposure, the media landscape has changed...

Why Long-Term Creator Partnerships Outperform Campaign Bursts In Influencer Marketing Why Long-Term Creator Partnerships Outperform Campaign Bursts In Influencer Marketing

by Amanda Whited

April 20, 2026

Let’s start with a hard truth: Most one-off influencer marketing campaigns don’t deliver the ROI brands expect. They may generate impressions and short-term reach, and they may even look good on a report. But when it comes to building brand trust, driving meaningful engagement, and influencing purchasing decisions, campaign bursts often fall short. That’s...
